Email Search Filter

Already have someone’s email but want to know more about them? This article shows you how to use the Email filter in Contact Search to go straight from an address to the full contact profile. It works with both business and personal emails, so you can follow up on inbound leads, match event or webinar lists, and check records from your CRM without building a search from scratch.

Getting started

Overview

The Email filter lets you look up contacts in Seamless by typing or pasting in their email addresses. Whether you are checking whether someone is already in Seamless, matching a list from another tool, or following up on a lead who emailed you, you can go straight to the contact without building a search around titles, companies, or locations. The filter works with both business and personal email addresses.

‍

Getting Started

Searching by email is the fastest way to find a specific person when you already know how to reach them. Instead of guessing which title, company, or location filters will surface the right contact, you enter the email and let Seamless find the match. This saves time and cuts down on scrolling through results that are close but not quite right.

Search for contacts by email using Contact Search. You can type an email address directly into the filter or copy and paste one from another source, like a spreadsheet, your inbox, or a CRM.

‍

Starting a Search

Search for a contact by their email.

‍

  1. Log in to Seamless and click the Search icon on the left menu bar. Start a Contact Search.
  2. Find the Email filter in your list of filters.
  3. Type an email address into the filter, or copy and paste one in. You can use a business email (like name@company.com) or a personal email (like name@gmail.com).
  4. Click the black Search button.
  5. To save a contact you are interested in, click Find next to the contact. You can also use Find All to save every contact on the page.

Pro-Tip: Paste the email exactly as you received it and double-check for typos or extra spaces before searching. A single missing letter is the most common reason a search returns no results.

Email Filter Benefits

Get the full contact profile: An email address is often just the starting point. Searching by email brings up the contact’s full profile in Seamless, where you can find phone numbers, company information, and other details to help you personalize your outreach and decide how to reach them.

Check if a contact is already in Seamless: Look up an email from your inbox or CRM to quickly find the matching contact.

Match leads from other sources: Paste emails from a list, form fill, or event signup to find the matching contact profiles in Seamless.

Reach a specific person: When you already have a name and email, skip the broader filters and go straight to the contact.

Search personal or business emails: Look up contacts using whichever email address you have on hand.

‍

Example Use Cases

Inbound follow-up: A prospect emails your team from a personal address. Search that email to find their profile and add them to your outreach.

Event and webinar lists: You have a list of registrants and want to find their contact profiles. Paste their emails into the filter to find them.

CRM clean-up: You are reviewing records in your CRM and want to check a specific contact in Seamless. Copy their email from the CRM and search it.
