Privacy Notice for Business Contacts

Information collected from sources other than you under GDPR Article 14

Who this notice applies to. Seamless may obtain or generate business contact information about an individual from a source other than directly from such individual. This notice explains who we are, what information we process, where it came from, why and how we use it, who may receive it, how long we retain it, and the rights available to such individuals.

2. Categories of personal data we process

Depending on what is available and relevant to our services, we may process the following categories of personal data about you in your professional or employment capacity:

  • Identity information, such as your name and professional profile identifiers.
  • Business contact information, such as a business email address, telephone number, mailing address, and professional networking or social media contact information.
  • Professional and employment information, such as employer, job title, department, seniority, industry, office location, professional responsibilities, employment history, education, certifications, and public professional profile information.
  • Preferences and interests, such as contact preferences, preferred language, and professional or commercial interests.
  • Online and technical information associated with our services, such as IP address, device or browser information, and interactions with websites, applications, browser plugins, or databases.
  • Commercial information and inferences, such as products or services considered and predictions about professional interests, business needs, role, or likelihood of interest in a business product or service.
  • Other business-related information made available through the sources described below or generated when we verify, combine, enrich, or organize those records.

Sensitive data. Seamless does not knowingly collect or use special-category personal data such as information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, genetic data, biometric data used for identification, health data, or data concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation for the business-contact purposes described in this notice.

3. Where we obtained your information

We may obtain personal data about you from one or more of the following categories of sources:

  • Publicly available sources, including company websites, public professional profiles, public directories, government or regulatory records, and other information available online.
  • Our customers and users, including data from professional networking, customer relationship management, social media, email, contact, or similar accounts they connect to our services.
  • Browser plugins and other Seamless product features used by our customers and users.
  • Service providers, partners, contact-information verification providers, data providers, and other third parties from whom we obtain business-related information.
  • Information derived or inferred by Seamless when we verify, match, combine, enrich, update, or analyze information from the sources above.

4. Why we process your information and our legal bases

We process business contact information for the purposes and on the legal bases summarized below.

Our legitimate interests. Our interests include operating and improving a business-information platform; providing accurate, relevant professional information; helping customers identify and communicate with appropriate business contacts; supporting B2B sales, marketing, recruiting, and relationship management; maintaining security and data quality; and protecting our business and users. We consider the nature and context of business-contact data, the reasonable expectations of professionals, the impact of the processing, and available safeguards. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests as described below.

5. How we use artificial intelligence and automated methods

Seamless does not make decisions solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal effects concerning you or that produce similar significant effects on you.

6. Who may receive your information

We may disclose personal data to the following categories of recipients, as needed for the purposes described in this notice and subject to contractual, technical, legal, or other safeguards where appropriate:

  • Customers and authorized users of Seamless that use business information for professional purposes, including sales, marketing, recruiting, research, verification, and relationship management.
  • Affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, and contractors that support our business and services.
  • Service providers and partners, including technology, hosting, communications, analytics, security, verification, customer service, professional advisory, and other operational providers.
  • Government authorities, regulators, courts, law enforcement, professional advisers, or other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Parties to a corporate transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable safeguards.

7. International transfers

Seamless is based in the United States, and personal data may be stored, accessed, or processed in the United States and other countries where Seamless or its service providers operate. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, Seamless may use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and corresponding safeguards for transfers involving the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. You may contact us to request information about the safeguard applicable to your personal data and, where available, a copy of it.

8. How long we retain your information

We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this notice, including providing and improving our services, maintaining accurate business records, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and protecting the safety, security, and reliability of our services. The applicable period depends on factors such as the nature and accuracy of the data, its continued relevance to a professional role, our relationship with customers or users, legal requirements, and the need to maintain records of privacy choices. We may retain limited information in a suppression record where necessary to honor an objection, deletion request, or opt-out and prevent information from being reintroduced.

9. Your data protection rights

Subject to applicable law and any limitations, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data and information about how it is processed;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • request deletion of your personal data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests and object at any time to processing for direct marketing;
  • receive personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and request transmission to another controller where the right to data portability applies; 
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent; and
  • lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the country where you live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred.

How to exercise your rights. Submit a request through the Seamless Privacy Request Center or email privacy@seamlessleads.com. You may also contact the EU or UK representatives listed above. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority to make the request. If we deny or limit a request, we will provide the reason where required by law.

This notice supplements the Privacy Policy and applies specifically to personal data obtained from sources other than you and processed for the business-contact purposes described in this notice.
