Whether it’s Glengarry Glenn Ross (“Always Be Closing!”) or The Pursuit of Happyness, when you think of salespeople, you think of men. In fact, of the 2.7 million sales professionals in the U.S., 70.5% are men, while only 29.5% are women.

The 2019 Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that women are further underrepresented in B2B sales in most industries, including wholesale and manufacturing (27%) and financial services (30%).

With these disparities, being a woman in such a male-dominated industry can be a challenge to confidence. And impostor syndrome is real.

I know all about impostor syndrome and that feeling of not quite belonging when you walk into a room (or a Google Meet call).

But what makes the difference is opportunity. When you’re given the opportunity to showcase your talents and excel, it boosts your confidence and reminds you that you not only belong in the room, but you bring a unique perspective and value to the table that no one else can.

Whenever I’ve had the chance to walk into rooms I wasn’t supposed to get into, and receive accolades for my hard work, that always affirmed my abilities and my worth.

That’s why Seamless.AI agreeing to contribute to the Barbara Giamanco Memorial Scholarship Fund is such an incredible act that will help a lot of up-and-coming saleswomen pursue their dreams.

Keep reading to learn more about the scholarship and Seamless.AI’s pledge to inclusivity.

What Is the Barbara Giamanco Memorial Scholarship Fund?

The Barbara Giamanco Memorial Fund was founded in 2020 to honor the memory of the late Barbara Giamanco. Giamanco was a trailblazer in sales and a girl boss, heading her own sales consulting firm (Social Centered Selling), hosting an award-winning podcast show (Conversations With Women In Sales), co-writing the first book on social selling, The New Handshake, and selling over $1 billion in products and services.

Because Giamanco was passionate about women playing a dominant role in B2B sales, the scholarship awards $1,000 to exceptionally talented women sales students enrolled at universities across the country.

What Is Seamless.AI Contributing?

Like Giamanco, Seamless.AI values diversity, and that includes empowering women with the tools and resources to get into more B2B sales and leadership roles.

That’s why we’re donating to fund multiple scholarships. In addition to the donation, the CEO, Brandon Bornancin, and the COO, Danielle Demming, will also offer mentorship opportunities for scholarship winners to learn essential skills, habits, and resources to thrive in a sales career after college.

With this support, Bornancin and Demming hope to empower the next generation of women sales leaders and increase inclusivity because when sales reflects more multi-faceted perspectives, real innovation can flourish.
