I had a lazy Saturday last week and I decided to hop on Netflix. As I was scrolling, I had a random flashback (á la Raven Baxter) to when Netflix used to offer rental DVDs to compete with Blockbuster. When Netflix came on the scene, no one thought Blockbuster would fall because they were THE at-home entertainment industry giant. But Blockbuster never met the demand for no-frills digital entertainment, and they crashed as fast as they grew.  

If there’s one lesson we should learn from Blockbuster, it’s: Sustainability

Three ways to start optimizing your sales ops sustainability:

Align your sales ops and marketing messaging. Don’t market your product as the answer to all your prospects’ problems, and then when they hop on a demo, they’re disappointed because the marketing was misleading. Sustainable sales ops is all about ethics, so make sure your value proposition is transparent and cohesive across channels. And carry out regular sales training and enablement. Make sure you define revenue goals. Break them down into sales KPIs and measure, track, and optimize.
